The Winter Wren

A plump little wren sits puffed up against the cold on a bare winter branch, set against a soft, snowy blue sky. Her brown cap is tucked low and her round belly is painted in loose, textured strokes of butter yellow, cream, sea glass and lilac, a cheerful spot of color on a quiet day. The palette stays light and calm, so she settles easily into a kitchen, nursery, reading nook or hallway. She is lovely on her own or grouped with other birds on a gallery wall, and makes a sweet winter or holiday gift for a bird lover.
